Most of what makes a cake non-halal is invisible on a menu: gelatin in a stabiliser, an extract cut with alcohol, the rum that half the traditional Balkan recipes call for. Ajsel bakes without any of it, says so in writing, and keeps the supplier documentation for anyone who wants to read it before they order.

What that means in the kitchen

No gelatin in anything, including stabilisers and fondant. Alcohol-free extracts only. No animal-derived emulsifiers. Syrups made sweet and clear, with nothing added that would not belong on an Eid table. The policy is published in full on the What’s in it page.

Ajsel does, by name. No outside body certifies the kitchen, and we would rather say so plainly than let a badge imply otherwise. Ask for the supplier list and we will send it.
